When the World Shakes Us Awake
Something ruptured within me this past week. I became a bubbling mess of tears filled with a mixture of anger, betrayal and pain that was buried so deep below the surface that it needed to blow like a volcano spewing layers of molten rock stemming from years of accommodating the emotional neglect and need to protect a parental figure.
Anyone who knows me understands that I'm a frustrated crier. I tend to analyze my emotions and only "explode" when I'm at my breaking point.
There was something different about this release. It was visceral, primordial and deeply intertwined within the collective framework of the shadows we share. I could not put my finger on it until the week unfolded and realized that I was being prepared to unload my personal pain for what was going to spill out after a week filled with events that have no doubt pushed us to another breaking point.
Have you ever noticed how certain events seem to crack something open in the collective psyche?
No matter what anyone wants to call it - astrological shifts, ascension, New Earth - there is no denying that as humans we are being pushed into uncomfortable territory in order to start to look at how we are living and treating ourselves and each other in a different way.
This moment of time feels like a pressure cooker that is only going to continue to build heat until something cracks us wide open to surrender to it.
The Anatomy of a Consciousness Shift
When we are born our lives are structured around a specific lens through which we see the world. Our formative years are crucial in shaping our perspective - from our parents, to our teachers, to the community in which we live - these components create the fabric of our reality and a baseline for what feels normal or comfortable in each of us.
As humans, we generally dislike any change, especially forced change. As long as things are status quo and align with that baseline meter, we feel safe, but as soon as our safety net gets shaken, we feel disoriented and unstable - even if our baseline is filled with our own trauma and distorted conditioning.
When major events occur in the world that impact a large part of our global population, the initial shock or disruption from them interrupts the lens through which we see the world and begins to place cracks in our long-held belief systems.
We enter what could be perceived as a disruptive void - an uncomfortable space between old and new understandings, which requires us to change course from our everyday comfortable routines. And if we don't move towards faith, our long-held beliefs are abruptly tested to see if they can still hold.
From an energetic perspective it can feel like our soul has just splintered. And when our energy field fragments in any way, we are more susceptible to interference coming in from outside sources, amplifying the unsteadiness and knocking us off center.
Much of the world's structures are designed to create this disruption, bombarding us with "breaking news" flashes that keep our nervous system in a constant state of fight or flight and leaving us fearful of how this may impact our understanding of safety.
Recent Catalysts: A Pattern Emerges
Many of the events that shake us to our core are designed to be disruptors. I call them Consciousness Shifters - events that can unlock parts of ourselves we never knew needed to be broken open. They unlock a piece of our unconscious that needs to be activated so we can evolve as human beings. Whether they are orchestrated from a higher power, or are simply the act of our own collective yearning for expansion, something shakes deep within us.
In the past several years alone, we have been confronted with multiple events that have forced us to look deeper at our patterns of behavior as humanity:
George Floyd: A forced examination of systemic racism to shift conversations around justice, equality and the enslavement of minorities in the United States.
Ukraine/Russia Conflict: Our global interconnectedness and awareness around geopolitical complexity and our assumptions about peace and security.
Gaza: Humanitarian values vs. political allegiances and moral complexity around conflict and unchecked power.
Luigi Mangione: Sparked conversations about healthcare, inequality, and justice and revealed collective frustration with systems, corporate accountability and the morality of corporate roles in profiting off keeping people sick.
The Acceleration Factor
But why are these consciousness shifts happening so rapidly now?
It's no surprise that our interconnectedness has evolved beyond just our energetic connection. It's fueled by our global connectivity and the infiltration of the 24-hour news cycle, social media and our need to look at the distortion to make ourselves feel better about our own choices.
Let's be clear: Our bodies are not designed to be bombarded with a constant barrage of tragedy. This is something that you may have experienced once during an entire lifetime in previous generations. Now, we experience this on a daily basis, which leaves our systems in a constant state of fight or flight.
The events that are unfolding before our eyes are exposing the crack points of inverted agendas, slowly exposing the systems that have appeared to keep us safe as nothing more than something that has been built to keep us dependent and controlled, leaving us baffled as our false safety net dissolves.
The Uncomfortable Truth About Awakening
I don't subscribe to any structure that tells you what to do. After years of trial and error, I wholeheartedly believe that everyone must come to their own conclusion in their own time as this is the only way anyone will evolve.
However, I believe that these global events are destabilizing us so we can get there faster.
It's forcing us to go through a death of our own identity and belief systems. It's shifting our worldview.
Sometimes growth requires disruption and evolution requires crisis.
Inverted constructs have been the state of affairs for far too long. Pain, suffering and enslavement are not the original blueprints of the Earth experience and the outer shifts that are occurring are pushing us out of these strongholds and back into a shift to unity consciousness.
But the path back is going to be contentious and disruptive as the "powers" grasp to keep control.
The Battle for Consciousness
The "battle" isn't really over land or money. It's over consciousness.
Think about it: every system of control throughout history has relied on the same fundamental strategy: keep people disconnected from their own inner knowing, make them doubt themselves and mistrust others.
When you are cut off from your intuition, your sovereignty, your ability to discern truth from manipulation, you become dependent on external authorities to guide your personal beliefs.
This is why consciousness shifts feel so threatening to established power structures. An awakened person can't be easily controlled. Someone who trusts their inner guidance doesn't need to be told what's true. When you understand your interconnectedness, you no longer want to participate in a system that causes harm to others.
The current acceleration of these events is not random - it's the universe's way of forcing us to wake up faster than the system can adapt. Each crisis cracks open another layer of illusion, revealing the mechanisms that have kept us small, fearful, and divided.
Keep people disconnected from themselves = easier to control.
Keep people in fear = easier to control.
Keep people in the established systems = easier to control.
Keep people believing that their power lies outside of themselves = easier to control.
But here's what they didn't count on: consciousness, once awakened, can't be put back to sleep. And when enough people begin to reclaim their inner authority, the entire collective field begins to shift.
Macro vs. Micro Learning Opportunities
How can we begin to shift our perspective much faster from both a macro and micro level?
It's important to understand that we are all connected - we are all one - even if it appears on the surface that we are all coming from different backgrounds and belief systems. The minute you land on Planet Earth, you are plugged into the collective, whether you like it or not and there is no escaping that you can impact it with negativity or positivity - it is up to you.
This is why our personal growth is so critical. We must turn inward to examine our own biases and reactions to situations. We are responsible for everything we personally do.
Therefore, developing discernment about every situation that presents itself is critical in today's world. If we choose reactivity to every situation, we are only compounding the distortion.
As Byron Katie says "You are a full time job, stay in your own lane."
The more we turn inward, the more we do the self-examination and stay focused on our reaction to things, the spillover assists in the collective evolution of our consciousness.
The Return to Wholeness
As I sit here now, several days past that volcanic emotional release, I can see it differently. What felt like falling apart was actually coming together. That rupture wasn't a breakdown, it was a breakthrough, a necessary cracking open to go deeper into my own authority.
The tears were not just mine - they were ours. The collective grief of humans who are remembering what we've forgotten, mourning what we've lost and simultaneously celebrating what we are becoming.
This is the paradox of consciousness shifts: they simultaneously destroy and create. Just like our natural cycles of death and rebirth. We must let something go in order to create something new.
It's important to remind ourselves that we are not victims in these times, we are participants in one of the greatest evolutionary leaps in human history. We signed up to do this!
Each shift, no matter how uncomfortable, is moving us closer to remembering who we really are: Powerful beings who are capable of creating a world that works for everyone and is rooted in love, authenticity and inclusion.
The old world is ending. The new one is being born through us as conscious participants rather than unconscious victims.
And maybe, just maybe, that's exactly what we came here to do.
Specific Integration Practices
I was telling a friend recently that these topics I'm discussing are certainly not "sexy," but it's not my job to create more disruption, it's to be an anchor in the storm. This requires grounded presence and steadiness to hold the center while everything around us crumbles.
So, what can you do during these times of great change?
The 24-Hour Rule: When a major event triggers you, commit to waiting 24 hours before posting, commenting or taking action. This simple pause allows the initial emotional charge to settle so you can respond from clarity rather than reactivity.
Energetic Protection: Before consuming news or engaging with charged content, imagine a protective bubble of light around you. Set the intention to remain centered and grounded, observing without absorbing the chaos into your energy field.
The Three Questions: When you feel destabilized by the world around you, ask yourself:
What is this showing me about myself?
How can I respond from love rather than fear?
What would my highest self do in this situation?
Conscious Media Consumption: Limit your news intake to specific times rather than constant scrolling. (I'm leaving my phone in another room at night when I sleep). Choose quality sources over quantity, and always balance heavy content with something that brings you joy.
Community Connection: Find others who are also navigating these shifts consciously. Having a community of aware individuals to process with can prevent you from feeling isolated or overwhelmed by the magnitude of change happening around us.
Nature Is The Best Medicine: Go outside. Get sunshine on your face. Put your feet on the grass. Talk to a tree.
